See Gizel perform in "Frozen -- Live at the Hyperion"

Gizel will be playing the role of Anna in “Frozen – Live at the Hyperion,” the new musical adaptation based on Disney’s blockbuster animated film, is set to officially begin performances on May 27. It is slated to play at California Adventure's Hyperion Theater, the 1,873-seat venue that was home of "Disney's Aladdin -- A Musical Spectacular" for 13 years.

The new musical features music and lyrics by the creators of the film score, Kristen Anderson-Lopez and Robert Lopez (“Avenue Q,” “The Book of Mormon,” “Up Here”), and is adapted from the screenplay by Chad Beguelin (“Aladdin – A Musical Spectacular” at Hyperion Theater; Broadway: “Gotta Dance,” “Aladdin,” “The Wedding Singer,” “Elf”).

It is directed by Liesl Tommy, who is currently represented on Broadway with “Eclipsed,” starring Lupita Nyong’o.

Gizel Jimenez is a graduate of New World School of Miami, FL receiving a BFA in Musical Theater. Gizel recently made her OFF BROADWAY debut starring in the American primer of “Unseamly” as Malina.

TV/Film credits: Guest star role on Law & Order SVU “Presumed Guilty” (Angelica Rodriguez); Lead role in short film, “The Tale of Timmy Two Chins” (Jennifer).

Regional Theater credits:“Up Here” as Cool Girl at La Jolla Playhouse in CA; “The theory of Relativity” at the Goodspeed theater as Caroline; “In the Heights” at The Walnut Street Theater and Westchester Broadway Theater as (Vanessa); and “Smokey Joes Café” at Capital Repertory Theater as (The Shimmy Girl). Downtown credits: “Rosario and the Gypsies” at Theater for the New City as (Mary).

Other credits include: Paramount Theater Benefit (Carmen’s Habanera), Barclays Center (National Anthem), Will Spark’s Music video for Ultra productions (Salsa Dancer) and a Commercial with comedian Nick Kroll for Comedy Central and Funny or Die productions.

After Graduation, Gizel was accepted into the American Theater Wings- Springboard NYC, where she had the pleasure of working with legendary greats such as, Seth Rudetsky, Kathleen Marshall, John Ruocco, David Caparelliotis, Susan Minser, Jodi Collins, Dani Super, and Stuart Gelles to name a few. She was also given the opportunity to sing alongside Tony award winning Alex Lacamoire.
